The 2008 financial crisis has often been blamed on a lack of morals and ethics in the financial sector. There might be a kernel of truth in there, yet I don’t think there is an a prioriunwillingness to change. Stronger focus on CSR and sustainability in the private sector more generally, as witnessed in the last decades, clearly indicates that there are incentives to change. The difficulty, however, is to change conventional wisdoms and find common ground with respect to new (social) roles. In order to succeed, a fresh perspective may be helpful:
